Cataracts
Symptoms: Blurry vision in bright light, Poor night vision, need more light for reading, see halos in sunlight, difficulty judging distances-steps.

There are many causes of cataracts.  Most common theories of cataract formation are free-radical damage to the lens of the eye. The lens is a clear sphere shaped aspirin size structure. It lies in the center of the eye beneath the iris or colored portion of the eye. The sun exposure is a common source of radiation free radical damage to the eyes. Sailors or fishermen have a higher rate of cataracts than the average population in relationship to the high exposure of the eyes to sunlight.  Photo sensitive drugs like, antihistamines, birth control pills tranquilizers sulfa antibiotics, anti-diabetic drugs antidepressants and NSAID or non steroidal anti inflammatories.
Cataracts are also caused by a decreased blood flow to the eyes.  The small capillaries can become restricted with high lipid or cholesterol or high calcium buildup in the arteries. In addition, stress can cause a tightening of the arteries. A reduced blood flow to the capillaries causes an increased acidity and a reduced nutrient flow. This results in a dis-eased state of the eyes resulting in cataracts. Smoking causes narrowing of the retina blood vessels.

Lastly, there is a very high incidence of cataracts with high sugar states. Candida or systemic yeast rises with high sugar or alcohol intake. More than 7 drinks per week will increase the incidence of cataracts.
Diabetics contract cataracts earlier in life than non diabetics.

In summary sunlight exposure to the eyes, drugs that increase photo sensitivity, clogged arteries or spasmed arteries due to stress can lead to cataracts. In addition, sugar consumption, candida, steroids or alcohol use (more than 7 drinks a week)  have a high link to cataracts.

Answer: The answer then is to increase blood flow to the eyes, reduce sugar-alcohol consumption and rid the eyes of candida.

Quest: The quest then is to find natural herbs, minerals, essential oils etc. that will provide us with what we need for the elimination of the causes of cataracts. 

What we found:
Clove aids in the removal of free radicals.  Clove is also a very potent anti bacterial and anti fungal or anti candida herb.
Geranium is antispasmodic. This may be one of the most important properties for  returning proper blood flow to the eyes. In addition when increased blood flow returns to the eyes there may also be a drop in intra-ocular pressure as well.
Geranium is also anti fungal or anti candida. Geranium aids in proper sebum (fatty secretion). This is important in eye care as Geranium may play a very important role in removing fatty deposits from the retina blood vessels and removing fatty plaque from the lens.rise in sugar or glucose levels in the blood.
Lastly, Geranium increases blood flow which can restore oxygen and nutrient (life) to the eyes.
Colloidal silver is a known antibiotic and anti microbial.
Colloidal copper has been used for decades for the treatment of fungus or fungal related disorders such as candida.
Oil soluble vitamins like E, D and A and beta carotene are essential for the eyes and in retaining a pliable  macula. However, these vitamins are considered more valuable in cases of macular degeneration than with cataracts.
